No matters in what country we are living in, we definitely have a flag as the symbol of our country. Each flag in each country is having its own symbols and colors that carry several meanings. For example, the stars number in US flag is symbolizing the number of state in US. Of course, each country has its own flag and meaning.

 The example above is one of the simplest examples of thing that we can study in Vexillology. The Vexillology is defined to be a study that makes various elements of flags as the main concern. Vexillology might look unimportant, but it has great role in various fields such as in military field.

 In United State, we often see various styles and types of US flags. Well, actually there is only a single type of US flags, but the variety of flags we often see is showing the flag usage. US flags used in military will have different type or model from one that put in the US office building or civilians’ home.

 We can identify flag types if we learn Vexillology. Vexillology is an academic study that emphasizes flag as the study object. With the variety of flags we can find that there are so many meanings, theories, and principles behind a flag.
